Cora: The most fruits I had ever seen in my life. Pretty unique breakfast!

Cora (A) 3025 Lougheed Hwy #390 Coquitlam (N) 778-285-8577

On Friday morning, before heading to Whistler with the family, Hammy & I planned a little date since you know… I’m going to be gone for 3 days and that’s a long time to go without my lovely presence. I wanted to take her to try this place! It’s been on my “to try” list forever!! Unfortunately I can’t drag Monkey boy with me since he’s allergic to fruits.. Yep there is such a thing. So hammy to the rescue! She loves fruits just as much as I do. We use to buy organic grape tomatoes and eat them during lunch break… and it’s because we love them, not because it’s the “healthy” crap.

  • Eggs Benedict ($12.25): Just look at the mountain of fruits. If you are anything like me, this would be an amusement park for ya. I LOVE fruits. And to see them on my plate with cute designs makes it that much more appealing. I took a few bites off Hammy’s plate and the benedict was good enough. Honestly though, if it’s not for their speciality of fruits, Cora would just be any another chain.
  • 1990′s Harvest ($11.95): I decided I would go for this dish, representing 1990 and all. This included a large cinnamon-raisin brioche dipped in French toast batter with an egg and bacon on one side and a mountain of fresh fruit on the other. it looked really really really delicious. I mean just LOOK at those fresh fruits. All cut up into bite size pieces. These fruits are sweet as candy, same goes for the french toast. It was a bit bland but I couldn’t even tell anymore at one point mine had 90% syrup and 10% french toast. Kind of nasty…
  • Obviously the fruits are the celebrities here. Kind of a unique theme if you ask me. And what’s a better time to eat large chunks of fruits than for breakfast!
  • There was actually a large amount of food we had leftover. It’s a pretty big portion. I can hardly finish my meal ever anyways. I need to learn how to split my meal with others, but I’m always such a pig at the beginning of every dinner that I only regret wasting food till AFTER I’m full.
  • The restaurant is so bright and cheerful! The Friday morning we went was really busy. I notice right away that it’s a major family restaurant. Well duh, any better ways to deceive your child into eating fruits?
  • This restaurant is Canadian franchise, I heard the chain is really popular in Montreal. There’s 2 more in BC, so if you’re ever in Kamloops or Kewlona….
