Tung Hinh Bakery: (A) 1198 Kingsway (N) 604-875-3394

Very few carbs please me like a good delicious Vietnamese sandwich. For real, it’s very rare that I crave for pasta, bread, noodles, rice etc etc. We’re not talking about sweets such as donuts, croissant well that’s a different kind of carbs. But a good Viet Sub, I WILL DIE. I love this little shop. Monkey boy’s mom always bring me back sandwiches and leave them in the fridge. The other day, we stopped by here to grab Hammy and I some sandwiches to go and bakeries! No picture of bakeries, it’s in my tummy.

House Special ($3.25): I bought Hammy the house special, which is really really good. I love their meat, it’s different kind of ham. Looks even homemade maybe or something from Vietnam. Not your typical vietnamese cold cuts. The pate is so good!!! And the buns…unbelievably amazing. It’s all made in house. I know you want some. In regards to my pics, I know it sucks. You try walking, eating, moaning about how delicious it is and taking pictures at the same time.
Meatball ($3.25): I don’t know if it’s my fault for waiting too long but the meatball got kind of soggy. It was still good, it doesn’t really taste like a vietnamese meatball sub, more like some eggy sauce thing I can’t describe. I prefer the house special!

They’re pretty busy since it’s on the main street of Kingsway. Expect a usual line up wait.. not that long because they tend to work fast. Meaning they kind of give you that feeling you have to rush with your order. I always like asking for extra things (extra x2 pate extra butter extra cilantro extra pickled carrots) so it makes me feel like I can’t do that here.
They have really good bakeries available as well!

Tung Hing != Tung Hinh
Unless, of course, there is a secret Vietnamese code of sorts here!
Having said that, what about Kim Chau?
Hahaha no secret code. I always thought it was Tung hinh. Wth is even hing?
I never tried Kim Chau. Perhaps will give it a try soon!
