Dock’s Fish & Chips: (A) 15061 Marine Dr (N) 604-536-3625

You see that line up? Yep. That was for the rodeo entrance last Saturday. The line up was even longer, the picture can’t even jusitfy how many people were waiting to get inside. We asked the attendant and he told us something like oh between 3-4 hours. ARE YOU CRAZY? Well, I guess it WAS the last sunny day we are going to get this May but ARE YOU CRAZY? 4 entrances, all the same craziness. So when told that, we immediately booked it out of there. I got all cowboy-lookish for the rodeo too. Anyways, plan B, White Rock. I haven’t been to White Rock all season, I love the little strip there. Our empty stomach and waiting in traffic made the car ride that much worst. Our plan was to eat at Mobys Dick for some fish&chips. Turned out they close the dining room at 4:30. We got there at 2 and it was “closed”. Umm okay there. Looking for a place to eat, on an empty stomach, hot and grumpy is not ideal. Ran inside the first fish&chips we saw. Now I honestly rarely walk into a restaurant not knowing what it is. RARELY. Unless it’s close to my house or something.. so it was.. interesting to say the least.

Nugget & Fries Kid’s Meal ($8.99) I’m surprised for a fish and chips restaurant, they don’t even offer fish&chips for kids. That’s umm funny.
Cheeseburger & Fries Kid’s Meal ($7.99): My sister’s hamburger taste something like those hamburger and hot-dogs given out on Sport’s Day at school. Yeah… But anyways kiddie meal comes with a drink and fries.
Breaded Chicken Burger ($9.99) I don’t know why I wanted a crispy breaded burger, but I was really craving for one. To think of it, I haven’t had one in a really long time. My burger was mehh.. It’s something you can get at the school cafeteria for like $6 bucks. My meal came with a drink and fries.
Halibut Fish&Chips ($18.99): That is some expensive halibut fish&chips there for a small little shack. I didn’t have high hopes at all, I even gave monkey boy the “are you sure you want to order that halibut I mean… they did get only 20% on Urbanspoon” look. He didn’t care though, he hates cod. The halibut was surprisingly good, the batter was golden and crunchy, the fish was fresh, I didn’t feel like it was too greasy at all. I gotta give it to them, I hate making fish&chips. Although it seems easy, IT’S NOT. But for the price, I don’t know. We passed by loads of restaurant after that serves fish&chips for half the price.
Deep Fried Breaded Oysters ($12.99): I love there are holes on the table. My sisters were trying to guess what it was for, we had no idea until the food came out in a cone. AHHH.. I see. Okay miss smarty pants, that’s very convenient. The fried oysters came with fries as well, so there was ALOT of food on the table. I really liked the oysters, so did the others including my 8 years old sister! She said “it was so good she didn’t want to finish it”.

A bit pricey for just lunch (we paid $80), there’s so many other restaurants along the strip that you can try. Kids friendly, patio seating, dining room.
Service seemed a bit slow.. but really casual. You seat yourself and such.
