Sushi Garden: Still the best fix for sushi..

Sushi Garden: (A) 4635 Kingsway (N) 604-436-0104

Came here after a day of taking my little sister’s shopping for her birthday. Thankfully it wasn’t that busy and we didn’t have to wait a lifetime for a table. Usually that is the normal case of Sushi Garden. Being located directly from Metrotown might be one reason why it’s so darn busy. Frankly, I haven’t been here in ages, not because I don’t love the food, but am I really going to wait 2 hours for a table? Over my dead body. We all know I don’t have patience. I don’t even know what that word means. Hmmpf. I’ve noticed right away they did a huge renovation.

  • Spicy Salmon Sushi ($8.50): The greatest spicy salmon sashimi of all time! I say the greatest because it is. Sushi Garden consistently serves the freshest fattest piece of salmon. I always have this dish at my table, guaranteed.
  • Mentaiko Udon ($6.95): My boyfriend ordered them, I devoured them, and they were incredible.
  • Ton Katsu ($5.95): Crispy battered, perfectly cooked pork cutlets. With a nice refreshing side of salad.
  • Alaska Roll ($3.95): Avocado, tobiko, salmon. This my friends, is my ultimate favourite Alaska roll of all time. And it might even be my favourite rolls of all sushi. I know that’s a huge statement to make but this is just so awesome!!! This probably ranks up there as one of the best things I’ve ever ate. The creamy avocado, THIS SAUCE (I always order a side of the alaska sauce, it’s SO good), I can just eat and eat and eat this. Ask my boyfriend. And my sister. They lived to tell the tale. My sister even told my bf “holy crap next time my sister is angry just feed her this and she will shut up” It’s true. I probably would shut up. Not because I am not angry anymore, but because my mouth is full of alaska roll I simply can’t bitch. That multi-tasking skill, I have not yet mastered.
  • Smoked Salmon Cream Cheese Roll ($3.95): Sister had this, it was okay. Probably because in my eyes, everything else sucks and alaska roll rules.

  • Delicious x100, inexpensive x50 = best sushi of all time.
  • Really busy during rush hours.. lunch/dinner wait time might be at least 1-1.5 hours or so. I was once told about two hours wait, now that’s just cray.
  • Located literally across from Metrotown centre. Def a hotspot before/after shopping.
