Suika: (A) 1626 W Broadway, Vancouver (N) 604-730-1678
Located along broadway, you will sometime spot a long line up out this door.
One of the most photograph object inside suika, their bottle chandelier.
And I didn’t forget.. no sushi, no life. (also most photograph)
TOKYO OXTAIL RAMEN ($9.80)
Slowly braised oxtail and noodles in soy broth. Topped with dried fish power & scallions. I did enjoy the ramen, but nowhere was it near authentic as hokkaido
LIGHTLY SMOKED TUNA TATAKI ($6)
With home made chili oil on a bed of sliced onion topped with scallions.
BEEF SHORT RIB ($15)
Fried and tossed with sweet balsamic, like sweet & sour pork without the pork.
One of the best dish at Suika. I loved it 3 years ago, and still love it now. Why can’t I feel that same way about my bright blonde asian hair I had 3 years ago. Never again.
ABURI SALMON BATTERA ($11)
Lightly seared pressed salmon. Sushi w. avocado, spicy cod and salmon cavier.
Frozen grapes to end the night..
I recommend Suika with a beer, some of the food above and good company. It’s a great combo for any late night cravings. I do enjoy Suika over Kingyo any day. They are sisters, both get extremely busy, but I like Suika food/ambiance a lot more.
