Mongo Bongo: (A) 512 6th Ave, New Westminster (N) 604-544-5007
After my experience at Mongolie Grill stepping into another “mongolian grill” place is just out of the question. Until one day you’re hungry, it’s 1 block away from you and Urbanspoon gave it such HIGH RATINGS..
DINNER BOWL ($10.95)
The way it works at Mongo Bongo — you pay for the bowl and that’s it. No scale, no skimping out on meats, you choose what you want, how you want it.
Fill it with your choice of meat or vegetarian protein alternative, noodles and vegetables, top with sauces such as ‘Mongo Bam’ to others such as, Korean BBQ, Chinese Black Bean, Szechuan, Thai Coconut & Japanese Teriyaki.
Then you throw you bowl in the line, stick your name on it and watch as the chef cooks your food. I don’t know why psychologically it’s funer this way.
All “bowls” are served with complimentary soup and rice. The idea that you don’t scale your bowl means you can PACK as much as you want in it. I saw one guy actually quite literally squished his food down and pile mountain high of meats.
And if you’re still hungry after your first bowl.. well then, you simply tell em you want to do the all you can eat for an extra $3. And I guess that’s why I see so many votes on Urbanspoon. Well, it’s nothing amazingly good here, you’re getting what you pay for. Lunch bowls are $8.95 making it a great bang for your bucks.
