Afghan Horsemen: (A) 1833 Anderson St, Vancouver (N) 604-873-5923
One of the very first Afghani restaurant, serving Vancouver for over 36 years.
One of the “Afghan room”, this one is only empty because it’s been reserved. Trust that the other “afghan room” was entirely packed.
I love the decor here, this booth is super stylish.
To call this title “meat lovers” isn’t entirely true. There’s plenty of options for vegetarian as well. Also note, we didn’t have reso but they are super busy on weekends.
Love that in here, you can feel the rich culture through all the decors & painting
Included in our platter, we started off with an appetizer of Humus & Sabzi Mast, Salata with Feta Cheese, and Whole Wheat Pita Bread. Dipping is SO good.
HORSEMENS SPECIAL PLATTER ($47.95)
The main dish includes Boneless Chicken Shish Kebab, Lamb Shish Kebab, Lamb Shoulder, Baked Rice, Baked Eggplant, Dolmah (cabbage roll), Pakawra (batter fried potatoes), & Chaka (sour cream & yogurt dip)
Meat dishes here are impressive. The platter was HUGE and we were beyond stuffed by the end of it. I was scared to stand up, was pretty sure I couldn’t get myself out of the door. I was that full. Like I said, meat lovers this is the place for you. But if you’re a veggie, OMG the Pakawra is AMAZING!!
