How to Install SiteFrame

SiteFrame is a very basic and simple Content Management System. I have written a few tutorials on how to install content management systems and I think this is by far the easiest content management system that is out there. This would be an awesome CMS for beginners. Installing SiteFrame is just as easy as using it. You can install it quickly and easily by going through your control panel. In this tutorial I will show you how to install SiteFRame by going through your control panel.
Installing SiteFrame through your C-Panel

Log in to the control panel of the website that you wish to install SiteFrame on. Once you are logged in look for the Fantastico link and click it.

On the next page you will see a list of links down the left hand side of your browser. Click on the SiteFrame link under the Content Management (DNN .net CMS)category.

The next page will give you a brief description about SiteFrame. To get a full description of SiteFrame click on the link in the description. Below the description you will see a New Installation link, the amount of disk space required, and the amount of disk space that you have available. SiteFrame is only 2.14 mb. But be sure that you have enough disk space before you continue with your installation. If you don’t have enough disk space you may need to uninstall something that you aren’t using or upgrade your hosting package. Click on the New Installation to continue with the installation.

The next page is where you will enter the important information needed in order to install SiteFrame. The first two fields seem to complicate people that are new to installing things through the control panel and that is completely understandable. So I will explain the first two fields to you incase you don’t understand them. All the other fields are pretty self explanatory.

Install on Domain – You will have more than one option if you have sub-domains on this domain. If you do have sub-domains and wish to install SiteFrame on a sub-domain simply drop the box down and select the sub-domain that you want. If you do not have any sub-domains then you do not need to do anything with this field.

Install in Directory – You can choose to install SiteFrame in the root directory or a sub-directory. If SiteFrame is installed in the root directory then it will be seen as your homepage. If you install it in a sub-directory then you will need to type in a certain url to access SiteFrame. You can install it in a sub-directory by typing in the name of the new directory in the field. You could name the sub-directory siteframe for example. Make sure that the name of the directory does not already exist. If you wish to install it in the root directory leave this field blank.

After you have entered the information in all the other fields click on the Install SiteFrame button.

The next page will tell you that you have chosen to install SiteFrame on so and so domain and in so and so directory. If this information is correct then click the Finish Installation button. If you wish to change this information click the back button and change it.

The last page will show your username, password, and the admin url that you will need to access the admin panel. You should bookmark or print this information incase you forget it in the future. You can also have this information emailed to you by simply typing in your email address in the field below your information.

You have successfully installed SiteFrame. You will now need to set it up and start adding your content. If you have any questions about the installation please feel free to contact me by using the contact button at the top of the page.
